How to Add an AI Chatbot to Wix with Custom Code
Open Settings, Custom Code, Add Code in Wix, paste the one-line script from your agent’s Install tab, set it to load on all pages and place it in Body - end. Publish the site and test in a private window.
Step by step
- Copy the code. In your Clipaist workspace open Install and press Copy code.
- Open Custom Code. In Wix go to Settings, Custom Code, Add Code.
- Paste and configure. Paste the line, name it, choose All pages and place it in Body - end.
- Publish and test. Publish the site and open it in a private window to see the chat button.
Good to know
- Custom Code needs a Wix premium plan with a connected domain.
- Set Allowed websites in your agent to your live domain once testing is done.
If something does not work
View the page source and search for agent-widget.js. If it is missing, the code is not active or is in the wrong place. If it is there, check Allowed websites in your agent settings (the exact address must be listed, or leave it empty while testing), clear your site cache or CDN, and check that an ad blocker or a Content Security Policy is not blocking scripts.
Script-delay or minify-combine plugins can postpone the widget. Exclude agent-widget.js from those features.
