How to Add an AI Chatbot to Webflow (Footer Code)
Open Project settings, Custom code in Webflow, paste the one-line script from your agent’s Install tab into the Footer code box and publish the site. Test on the live domain.
Step by step
- Copy the code. In your Clipaist workspace open Install and press Copy code.
- Open Custom code. In Webflow open Project settings, then Custom code.
- Paste into Footer code. Paste the line into the Footer code box and save.
- Publish. Publish the site; custom code does not run in the designer preview.
Good to know
- The chat appears on the published site, not inside the Designer.
- Use Allowed websites to limit the chat to your published domain.
If something does not work
View the page source and search for agent-widget.js. If it is missing, the code is not active or is in the wrong place. If it is there, check Allowed websites in your agent settings (the exact address must be listed, or leave it empty while testing), clear your site cache or CDN, and check that an ad blocker or a Content Security Policy is not blocking scripts.
Script-delay or minify-combine plugins can postpone the widget. Exclude agent-widget.js from those features.
