How to Add an AI Chatbot to Squarespace (Code Injection)
Open Settings, Advanced, Code Injection in Squarespace, paste the one-line script from your agent’s Install tab into the Footer box and save. Test on the live site.
Step by step
- Copy the code. In your Clipaist workspace open Install and press Copy code.
- Open Code Injection. In Squarespace go to Settings, Advanced, Code Injection.
- Paste into Footer. Paste the line into the Footer box and save.
- Test. Open the live site in a private window and send a test message.
Good to know
- Code Injection needs a Squarespace plan that includes it.
- Clear any cache plugin or CDN after saving.
If something does not work
View the page source and search for agent-widget.js. If it is missing, the code is not active or is in the wrong place. If it is there, check Allowed websites in your agent settings (the exact address must be listed, or leave it empty while testing), clear your site cache or CDN, and check that an ad blocker or a Content Security Policy is not blocking scripts.
Script-delay or minify-combine plugins can postpone the widget. Exclude agent-widget.js from those features.
